10Jun24 off to Wooster,OH.

I was talking to Alejandra Guzman and she mentioned that her mother has been cancer free for a year. So today’s ride is dedicated to Doris Palazuelos and that she continues to get great reports!

Today’s mileage to Wooster is roughly 98 miles it’s looking like the average temperature will be around 65° the winds will be slight, nothing really to worry about and a slight chance of showers or sprinkles late in the day.  Today was the day of pedaling ahead, taking pictures, getting passed and playing catch up. My favorite way to ride while on tour.

It was a stellar day in the morning, slight clouds which built over the course of the day. We started out with mostly a flat run and then they built and the climbs got steeper and higher.  The fields are all producing and you can start to see some hills in the background. At one point I was very surprised to stumble on a brown bear.

One of the highway markers was for a historic underground railroad site. It was talking about the Alum Creek friends and the underground railroad.

After that I came into the village of ChesterVille which was a pretty small town and as I was approaching it I had a great opportunity for a picture of wheatfields and fellow riders on the road heading into the village.

Here’s another picture of Ohio farm land and farms and you can see the clouds are starting to build they’ll threaten rain but that’s about the extent of it.

After that we rode through Mohican park which was probably a 2 mile stretch next to a river that was very nice. I met another rider coming in the opposite direction and I told him what a great ride he had here.

Finally the roads and the fields gave way to the town of Wooster and this is where I spend the night tonight and then it’s off to Niles tomorrow morning.

Final day

Well this is the final day, 20 miles, most on a bike path, a meetup at Dunkin’ Donuts then a final 4 miles promenade to the Atlantic ocean....
