Windy day today 84 miles and a 20 to 25 mile an hour headwind gusting to 35. So I think we will do a different format today I’ll just show the pictures and then put out some points at the end. It was kind of like a prairie dog day I would say. You know pop your head up look around then drop the head and pedal, pedal, pedal, pedal against the wind.
They’re harvesting alfalfa, I’ve never seen this before, usually they bale but this is harvested like grain then hauled away. Interesting.
Our first rest stop was at the dalton gang hideout, the tunnel was their escape route from the house.
And finally, one last stop before I turned directly into the wind.
Points for today:
I was like a prairie dog all day; I kept my head down to minimize the then popped it up to check and then back down again.
I learned to “truck surf” at least that’s what I call it. Trucks come by when they’re even with me I stand up and their draft pulls me along for about 10 feet.
The trucks that are aerodynamic don’t cause as much wind disturbance. Grain trucks and livestock trucks are the best.
