Today’s ride is dedicated to Alex. Unfortunately he lost his battle.
Heading out for a 60 miler today, climbing Minas mountain.
Along this road I saw three antelope grazing so I paused to watch; they were two far out to photograph though. It wasn’t too far and we started the 8 mile climb over the peak.
Maybe two miles into it the pines started to thicken making it relatively cool.
Somewhere along here I saw 2 mule deer come down, cross the road and disappear.
Eventually we reached the top for a SAG stop, a well needed refueling.
Then back on the road and almost 6 miles down to Jerome.
Jerome has a great restaurant, burger and milkshake (chocolate). since it’s all downhill to the hotel. I’m not sure what they used to mine here but they have heavy equipment for it.
And that’s the day. Tomorrow we go to flagstaff, more climbing and great scenery!,,
wow Fred its beautiful. I bet that milkshake was delicious. Flagstaff should be cooler I think. Love you little BRO
